PinkPantheress was born in Bath, Somerset, United Kingdom on 18 April 2001. Her father is British while her mother is Kenyan. When PinkPantheress was five-year-old her family moved to Kent where she was brought up. At the age of 12, she took piano lessons and often participated in school talent shows. She also became the lead vocalist of a rock band at 14 and performed covers of Green Day, Paramore, and more. She enrolled at the University of Arts London but decided to drop out in 2022.
She first started writing songs when she was in high school. She initially started to help out a friend but started gaining interest and began writing songs for herself. At 17, she began using GarageBand to start recording her songs and eventually uploaded her songs to SoundCloud. PinkPintheress then began uploading her songs on social media platforms such as TikTok where she gained 500K likes.
