Thomas Grant Gustin was born in Norfolk, Virginia on 14 January 1990. Gustin enrolled in Governor’s School for the Arts program in Norfolk for musical theater. He completed his high school from Granby High School and then went to Elon University in North Carolina where he enrolled in BFA Music Theatre Program. Since his college days, Gustin has been good friends with actor Chris Wood.
Gustin’s first notable screen appearance was in 2014 the film Rain when he was in high school. Gustin played the role of a young mute kid. In 2010, Gustin played the role of Baby John in a Broadway Revival Tour of West Side Story, for which Gustin left school and performed with the tour for a year.
