Enjoy Celebrity Radio’s Showstoppers Review At Wynn Las Vegas…..
Showstoppers does exactly what it says on the tin – 80 minutes of Broadway 11 o’clock numbers, hits & showstoppers!
Sadly this show is closing Sept 2016 at Wynn.
Presented by Steve Wynn, Las Vegas most successful mogul of the 21st century, this show has an exceptional energy, precision, orchestra & cast.
Not only are the cast and orchestra staggeringly talented but they are also HUGE – more than 60 in totally.
Opening with ‘There’s no business like show business’ – this sets the mood for this classic celebration of musical theatre.

The cast include the cream of Broadway including David Burnham, Randall Keith, Nicole Kaplan, Kerry O’Mally, Lindsay Roginski & the brilliant Andrew Ragone.
Between them they’ve worked on every show from Phantom, 42nd Street, Little Mermaid, Sunset Boulevard to Evita.
With sensational costumes, lighting and slick choreography this is really a hugely impressive production clearly directed by a master of staging.
The sets are beautifully designed, elaborate and incredibly compelling. The lighting is sensational at times giving the show huge character, diversity, variety and appeal.
The energy of the cast is inspired throughout. The big dance numbers leave you speechless and totally in awe.
The epitome of this is the finale. ‘One’ from A Chorus Line is a 5 minute theatrical masterpiece!
One of the cleverest pieces of staging, choreography & team work I’ve ever seen on stage. That number alone gets 5* from me!
This is a classic Vegas spectacular of Wynn proportions. It must cost a fortune to stage – Steve does not do things by halves!
With hits including ‘Anything you can do I can do better’, ‘Welcome’ from Cabaret, ‘Luck Be A Lady’, ‘Razzle Dazzle’ & many more you won’t be disappointed.
The set list is ‘safe’ and familiar to its discerning and respectful audience.
Despite this being a musicals tribute, the show does have edge, especially in scenes from shows like Chicago & Cabaret.
Many show-tunes are sexy, others have darker themes – this variety makes these sections even more compelling.
At times the sound, for me, was a little crude and overwhelming but I guess this is Vegas. We can’t have punters falling asleep now can we?!
Despite the technicalities this is a hugely impressive show. I love the size of orchestra – that full sound has all but disappeared on Broadway let alone Vegas. That investment payed off big-time.
Congratulations to all involved at Showstoppers. Finally the wonderful tradition of mind-blowing huge musical productions has returned to the strip.
